Emily Scarratt is best known as the player who secured England’s 2014 Women’s World Cup triumph with six minutes left in the game. A talented all-rounder, she turned down the offer of a US Basketball Scholarship at the age of 16 before bursting onto the Test scene in 2008 with 12 tries in 12 games. She was the top point-scorer, with 70, at the 2014 World Cup and also bagged scored 56 points at the 2017 World Cup as England reached the final. Emily captained Team GB at the Rio Olympics, won a bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and represented England at the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens. She returned to the 15-a-side game in January 2019 joining Loughborough Lightning and was awarded a full-time England contract.
