Dairy Might Help Boost Bone Health

Dairy foods like milk, yogurt and cheese are good sources of protein and calcium. According to a study published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Density, regular consumption of these foods is associated with a higher volume of bone mineral density and spine strength.

After analyzing the eating habits of 1,522 men and 1,104 women between the ages of 32 to 81, researchers determined that dairy consumption appears to be most beneficial in males over the age of 50. Findings were different with female subjects, where only cream intake had a significant effect on the cross sectional area of bone.
