When matches were played at elevations of 1200 to 1753 meters (3937 to 5751 feet), there was a 3% decline in total distance covered by players compared to matches that took place at or near sea level. However, the data did not reveal any statistically significant differences in goals scored or errors made, leading researchers to conclude that higher elevations don't impact athletic ability.
