Vitamin C & Dairy Gut Check

A number of studies have pointed out the weight management benefits of dairy products. Others have shown no clear benefits. Now research recently published in the journal of Public Health Nutrition continues the debate with findings that suggest increasing your intake of vitamin C and low-fat dairy products can reduce the accumulation of abdominal weight.

The study analyzed the eating habits of 900 Iranian women between the ages of 40 and 60, and determined that low vitamin C intake increased the probability of central fat accumulation by 131%. Low calcium intake increased the chance of fat accumulation by 30%.

The Bigger Picture: Although the mechanisms behind these findings have yet to become fully understood, researchers did find a link between vitamin C/calcium consumption and a reduction in fat absorption. It's certainly worth some personal investigation. If you don't have the time to prepare enough dairy or fruit, or dislike the taste of one food type or the other, consider supplementing with a quality multi-vitamin.

I am no authority on this stuff but I believe by utilizing vitamin C in high amounts you maitain a healthier immune system thus making it easier to loose excess bodyfat and prevent it from collecting Also vitamin C is highly acidic and may help foods digest easier. As far as the dairy products like like skim milk tend to cause people to gain more bodyfat than 2%. Some anabolic fats such as in lowfat dairy are also required for optimal mass buliding and energy for recovery. Theres my 3 cents
