Overweight Versus Out Of Shape

Ask yourself who's more inspirational, the model on the cover of that women's magazine or an Olympic athlete? According to an Associated Press/IVillage poll, for women, there's a big disconnect between body image and physical condition. Half of them aren't happy with their present weight, even though 26% have a Body Mass Index in the normal range for their height and weight. Even still, 60% can't manage 80 minutes of exercise a week, although the recommended minimum is 2 hours weekly.

The Bigger Picture: What's really telling in this survey is that 25% admitted to considering plastic surgery, and just 8% of the 1,000 people who participated in this research made a point of consuming the minimum recommended 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Unfortunately, there is no quick, easy fix for achieving the ideal body. On the other hand, you won't have to undergo plastic surgery. Just make a date with the gym and eat a healthy, balanced, well proportioned diet.

Some people have strange metabolisms. Only a combo of things will work.

That's true. A personal trainer can help people find exactly what they need to do to achieve their goals. All you really need is a desire to do it though.
