Aminos Of A Different Flavor

The size of your biceps is sufficient evidence that you're aware of protein's knack for supporting big, strong muscles. Without it, all your heavy lifting sessions would pretty much be a waste of time. Here's why: the muscle breakdown taking place while training needs rebuilding assistance from the essential amino acids in protein. It's this rebuilding that makes your muscles bigger and stronger.

Now a fast-digesting protein like whey is ideal right before and/or after your workout. The essential amino acids in whey, including a hefty dose of the branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) that are absorbed directly into muscle tissue, help minimize muscle breakdown while optimizing the rebuilding to follow. But fast isn't always the best choice.

Truth be known, the majority of muscle rebuilding happens while you're sleeping. This is also the longest stretch of time that your body goes without nutrition. The word 'breakfast' refers to 'breaking the fast' that takes place between your last bite before bed to your morning bowl of oatmeal. The solution? Micellar casein. This milk-based protein makes a rich, thick shake that gels in your stomach where it can take as much as 7 times longer than whey to digest. The slow rate of digestion provides your recovering muscles with a steady stream of essential amino acids long into the night.

If the metabolic mechanics of micellar casein aren't news to you, the 3 new flavors of Gold Standard 100% Casein might be. Now, in addition to Banana Cream, Chocolate Supreme, Cookies & Cream, and Creamy Vanilla, knowledgeable strength athletes can choose from new Blueberries & Cream, Raspberry Smoothie and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors. Even better, Chocolate Peanut Butter is made with allergen-free flavors. Those who plan on attending Olympia Weekend will have the opportunity to sample these great new tastes from the ON Team. See you at the show!

Hi Ahmad,
No there are no side effects from the aminos in the casein or even more protein than normal food. Actually it will do you good if you are training hard as your body will use the protein to build upon.

Casein is the from the Latin word "caseus" meaning "cheese". You can get the benefits of Casein by consuming a lot of pounds of cheese as well but you sure would run out of calories even before money. As stated in the article, its essential to have such SLOW digestion to keep up with long hours of fasting so go ahead, get food for your starving muscles and stay within all your budgets : )
