Platinum Hydrowhey Energy Bars

Up for a minor kitchen challenge? The only appliance you'll use is the refrigerator. Continuing on with this week's series on clean holiday recipes is this one for peanut butter fudge energy bars. It does tip the scales with 15 grams of fat, but it's largely the healthy Omega-3 variety from flax. These tempting treats are definitely something you'll look forward to after a demanding session in the gym!

Peanut Butter Fudge Hydrowhey Bars
In a large bowl combine 4 scoops of Turbo Chocolate flavor Platinum Hydrowhey, 2/3 cup of flax meal, 4 heaping tablespoons of natural peanut butter and 1/4 cup of water. Add artificial sweetener to taste. Then mix until smooth and dough-like. You'll divide the finished product into four equal parts and wrap in separate sheets of wax paper for refrigerator storage. TIP: Putting them in the freezer will make the consistency even more firm.

The Bigger Picture: The nutritional breakdown of each of the four bars is 284 calories, just under 12 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of sugar and 29 grams of protein. A fairly stout post-workout mini meal, with support for glycogen replenishment and muscle rebuilding. Dig in!
