Run Faster & Learn Faster

Running at 80% of your capacity for an hour a day will go a long way toward improving your cardiovascular health. According to a recent study published in the journal Neuroscience it can also enhance your brain power.

Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine had one group of monkeys run on a treadmill for an hour a day, 5 days a week. After 5 months, these aerobic training primates learned new tasks twice as quickly as monkeys who were allowed to sit around without exercising.

True Strength Moment: Further testing found that the brains of primates who exercised regularly exhibited greater vascular volume than their sedentary counterparts. So the benefits of regular exercise aren't limited to physical fitness or even overall health. Turns out the advantages can go right to your head.
