What's up guys!
We are all doing our best to navigate these unprecedented times: with the impact of Covid-19 being felt far and wide, many of our day-to-day lives will be severely disrupted primarily with our ability to get out and about and stay active!
With that in mind, here is a little crib sheet to make sure you are doing everything you can to stay safe, healthy and active over the next few weeks and months:
- Eat Healthy: Stay on top of your nutrition and hydration! Try to eat nutrient-dense foods, high in vitamins, minerals and fibre and make sure you keep hydrated... Aim to drink 0.04litres of water per kilo of bodyweight every day!
- Rest Up: Your immune system functions more optimally when you are getting enough sleep. If you are self-isolating and working from home, use the extra time not spent commuting to catch some extra ZZZZs and allow your body to rest and recuperate!
- Stay Connected: Self-Isolation doesn't mean cutting yourself off from the world! Use this time to make a list of all the people you haven't had time to speak to recently... Then give them a call/ face-time! If you reach out to 5 people every day you'll feel super connected and also catch up on all the gossip you aren't getting from the water fountain at the gym!
- Stay Active: being isolated doesn't mean being inactive! I will be uploading lots of workouts that you can do at home to keep you mobile and moving over the next few weeks... At a time where the focus should be on keeping healthy, staying active can be an important part of that! Keep an eye on James Stirling’s Instagram (@London_fitness_guy) who will be doing live home workouts every Tuesday and Thursday at 5pm on his Instagram channel.
One of the most important things people can do at the moment is staying positive: we are all in this together and we will come through it! Focus on the small things you can impact and do what you need to do to keep happy, healthy and safe!
