4 Week Cardio Fitness Program

There are plenty of people who don’t look forward to cardio day. Many of them would rather invest that time in the weight room. If you’re one of them, a study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research offers a couple of approaches to building fitness in cardiovascular health in 4 weeks.
Forty-seven subjects were divided into 2 groups. Some ran on a treadmill at 70% of capacity for 30 minutes while others did three bouts of 10 minutes at the same intensity with 10 minutes of rest between sets. After 4 weeks, both groups improved maximal oxygen consumption and maximal heart rate with decreases in blood pressure.
