A study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine suggests sprint interval training might be a good option.

Analyzing data from 36 studies following the interval and continuous training efforts of 1,012 subjects, researchers calculated that interval training provided a 28.5% greater weight reduction compared to continuous cardio. That works out to 3.48 pounds lost compared to 2.49 pounds in about 4 weeks.
